A Day in the Life of a Foreign Exchange Trader A foreign exchange trader looks at the various factors that influence local economies and rates of exchange, then takes advantage of any misvaluations of currencies by buying and selling in different foreign exchange markets. Most day traders have brief days, working two to five hours per day. Five hours is high. Add on a few minutes each day for preparation, and review at the end of the day and week, and day trading still isn't very time-consuming. So my set up and activity during my day is different to other equity traders. But then again, my approach is different to many FX traders I know as well. The Early Morning Wave.
